As if my first experience wasn't enough http://www.cadillacforums.com/forum...ral/193182-alternator-wire-v-header-fail.html , I still didn't wrap my headers.

This time the gadam positive battery cable decided it wanted to fight my headers. Why important wires on my V want to fight the headers I do not know. Right now the damage is $750, I'm hoping that it didn't mess up the headers. If it did than it will go far above $750. Its currently sitting at Sewell Grapevine waiting on the battery cable to arrive. I pray they don't find more damage once they really dig into it.

Side note, the tow truck driver was a muscle car fan and loved the V. He said, "damn, they told me it was a Cadillac, but they didn't tell me is was a CTS-V." He was able to load my V onto his bed without scraping the front or rear.

Weird, on my '04 nothing came close to touching or needing protection...
Yeah, with the small 346ci engine I wouldn't think they would come close to touching anything.

Sorry to hear about the troubles. That reminds me to really take a good look under my car and check my header clearances. I had my ceramic coated inside and out so I hope that helps.

On the bright side, your V looks awesome in that pic! The stance is beautiful! Not kidding, it seriously looks good.

Your old alternator thread had me checking my headers on what feels like a weekly basis after I installed them. Whenever I'm under there I'm always re-zip tying wires, etc making sure everything is clear. And mine are jethot coated! Sorry for your bad luck man.

Obviously, it can be small enough for some to do hot track days and be fine. Be pissed and take it out on me. I don't care.

The positive battery cable grounded out on the header. They dropped the exhaust and trans to replace the cable.

I picked it up today and it sounded like crap and was not running well. No codes though.

After sitting for 6 hours I started it up and immediately popped P0308 (misfire cylinder 8). I popped the hood and reached back and sure enough the plug wire was not on tightly. I got it on as tight as I could (with coilpacks on), cleared the code and started it. She purred like a cammed kitten! No more codes.

Awesome....glad to hear it was an easy fix (well minus the $785)......

To my knowledge, it's not for sale anymore. His wife got the Raptor instead of him.

Makes me glad I didn't buy your car when it was for sale! ;)

But I will be going to Grapevine Cadillac based on your recommendation.
