I had an overheating problem with my 97 deville w/ n* . I had my radiator and thermostat replaced 2 weeks ago and my resevoir replaced today . The overheating has stopped but the temp fluctuates between 199-232 is there any reason why this happens or is this common on this car. Also anyone in central alabama area or looking for a good repair shop, there is a Cadillac service shop that does excellent work it is called Cadillac Service there # is 205-781-2381 . :cool2:

is this when your driving or idling?

if i idle my deville the temp goes to about 220 and its pretty cold outside I've heard the fans dont even come on until 224 so it's not abnormal for the engine to run upto 230 I don't know if above it is a bad thing

I would just have it checked out for a headgasket leak if it doesnt have one then just run it the northstars have failsafes which will prevent you from overheating the engine etc.

The temp fluctuations are normal, but 232 may be just a tad high, usually its around 225 or so before it goes back down.
