Why does my windshield look like it has a snowflake etched into it?

WTH, Santa brought that car just for you. I have never seen a snow flake crack like that. I had my windshield replaced 2 times so far. Scratched when I bought it, Replaced and that was leaking. Brought it back they had the wrong windshield after pulling mine out. Had to put the leaking one back in. That one was fine after that. Then went back for the one I have now.

There is nowhere a rock would have hit it. This is crazy though.

My wife got a 2015 Lexus IS350 in October and I was driving it one day when a rock or piece of cement fell off of a bridge that they were rebuilding here in Kansas City and it chipped the windshield. Safelite came out and fixed it through my insurance and you can't tell.

Perhaps we have bad luck with windshields?

Truthfully, I think this is more of a factory defect.

They have been on back order since day 1. I waited over a month and they sent the wrong glass. It was for an cts. Went back weeks later they put in a new one. That one was defective and let air in while driving you could hear it. Next time they sent me to a glass place down the street from my house where the new glass was shipped. They kept it for 2 days to make sure this one was good. All good in the hood now.
