I had an '89 Fleetwood base and it had illuminated vanity mirrors for the front AND rear passengers. Now I know the rear mirrors on that car were an option, but my '91 Brougham has a vanity mirror only under the front passenger sun visor. Did Cadillac think the driver (aka Owner of the car) was not important enough to need one? It isn't even illuminated. One would think the Brougham edition would have all the luxury standard. Just wondering people's opinions

There are no markings under my sun visor indicating there was once one in the past such as an outline or bolts, etc. I was also thinking that but I believe I've seen pics of another either on here or another website and it to was lacking one.

You are probably the victim of the good old days of ordering the exact car of your dreams.
You could go to the dealer and choose from every single item that was offered and decide if you wanted it or not.

We would end up with some very weird cars on the lot because of that ability. One I remember was a beautiful Bonneville with vinyl bench seats and no air conditioning.

Was bad then, but never really thought about the Bonneville lover 40 years down the road, that finds it and pulls his hair out because it was perfectly kept and cheap, and then looks at it to see how it was equipped!

Old school - there was a time when the unlighted vanity mirror on the passenger side was a luxury. Also old school - the gentleman drove and the lady would ride in luxury in the front seat. Of course a Cadillac style lady would desire a vanity mirror. The increasingly scarce real man probably ordered the car as transportation for himself, knew he was taking into consideration that the passenger had some kind of vanity mirror, and he probably wasn't the type who worried about styling his hair or if his earring was on straight. :)

I'm guessing you might not have the auto dimming mirror either?

On the plus side you might already have the wiring for the sunvisors above the headliner, and if not it would be easy enough to connect to the map lights or garage door opener power since t is right there. Youd just need to get the sunvisors.

Oh I DO have the auto dimming rearview mirror and I love it :bouncy:

And as far as the wiring for illuminating the mirrors, I honestly don't care enough to. I replaced the courtesy lights and map lights with white LED's so its like daylight in there at night.

Interesting, My 91 has both vanity mirrors illuminated, but didn't come with the auto-dim rearview mirror. I have since added the auto-dim mirror though!
