Happy Sunday everyone. Just want to see who has 19”s on their CTS and what size tires you are using?

I recently got 19”s with 45 series tires but can’t get them to fit.

I bought 1” spacers, haven’t tried them yet, but I’m wondering if I’ll have to use 35 series tires.

Thanks for input!

Use this site https://www.wheel-size.com/ and input all the old measurements including suspension clearance with the original tires, then enter the new wheel and tire info. It will graphically give you info as to if it will fit or not.
I entered your info and going to 19" you need 48mm offset. The V has 19" tires and uses a 48mm offset.

Re: Who has 19” rims on their 2014 CTS?

I've got 19s on my 2015 CTS4.

It came with Pirelli Centurato P7 run flats. They're P255/35R19s. And they DO rub the inside of the wheel wells when turned all the way to the limits.

For winter tires I swap out the Pirellis for Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4s, P245/40R18.

I run 20s (squared setup) and use a 255/30/20 tire without issue. The gen 3 uses a stock 245/45/17 so I don't see how a 45 would work on a 19 inch rim without a crazy offset and possibly also rolling the fenders. I believe (but don't quote me) a 255/35/19 will get you closest to the factory recommended tire OD.

Re: Who has 19” rims on their 2014 CTS?

Personally I see nothing lame about my factory 19" rims, I think they look very good on the car. The factory uses a 35 series tire on the 19" wheels. You also may have an issue with the offset of the wheels, the factory wheels are either 32mm, 34mm, 39mm and the ones pictured here are a 23mm offset. So I guess if yours are between 23mm and 39mm the wheels are fine, it's just the 45 series tires.
Mine came with 255/35/19 run flats installed. I have dumped the run flats and had Bridgestone 255/35/19 Potenza's installed. A world of difference in the ride.

Nice CTS, here is mine. Blew two tires on pot holes at separate times from the low profile tire setup on. I love the look but I'm considering getting out of the low profile range which we are at with 255/35, Which doesn't offer much rubber to protect itself and Rim. I believe regular profiles would have survived the street craters.I purchased a tire and wheel plus protection plan for $1,500 and had to replace two tires since. $487 a tire. Pirelli Cinturato P7. Also covers cosmetic damage to rims. I have performance package on the cts4 3.6 with mag ride. Also swapped out the silenced suitcase muffler and installed two magnaflows. Sounds like angry wind. God bless brother drive that Caddy.

Re: Who has 19? rims on their 2014 CTS?

My 2014 CTS came with stock 17"x 8.5" rims in hyper silver with Bridgestone run flats.. I got this wild ass ideal to buy 19" x 8.5" 10 spoke polished aluminum rims on the 2017-2018 model ATS without doing any research. I found a set on Ebay and this is where my problems started. 245/45 tires worked but the front tires rubbed the frame so we down sized to 245/35 low profile RUBBER-BAND tires and they didn't rub but the ride was terrible. You felt every bump in the roadway and when it rained the front end felt like it was washing out or hydro planing so I never drove it when it rained. After 12 months and 2 or 3 good sized pot holes I decided I wanted the smooth ride back so I went back to my stock wheels & tires. I am interested in buying a set of Cadillac polished aluminum or chrome/PVD 17" 10 spoke wheels.

14 vsport. Avante guarde m580 19x8.5 35et/19x9.5 46et. General g max rs 255/40, 285/35. No rub so far and they still tuck within the wheel wells.

I really do like the OEM 19's! 17's OEM, the BF's were too lame for me, thinking about doing the Mich Wheel swap on them for black chrome 17s for back ups.

Next steps for my CTS - Ditch all the wreaths with some new wheel caps, new grill, new trunk badge as well as new trim piece above it - I think it's different?? Not 100% sure.

LOVE DIRTYNOVA'S Grill!!

I know this thread is a little old. I just ordered some 19’ wheels. From reading here im a little nervous about running 255/35/19 because of the thin side wall and some complaints about ride and blow outs. I’m looking at 245/40/19. A little bigger side wall but about .6" taller. Anyone run this size, any thoughts?
I did notice that the new 2020 CT5 has these as their stock tire.

I have 2014 CTS V. OEM 255/40/19 Front 285/35/19 rear... when changing wheels go with the overal diameter theory. OD on tire chart. My wheels are 27 inch in Overall diameters, approx 10 inch and 11 inch in width, so If I go to 20 inch wheels, I’d have to go to 255/35/20 and 285/30/20. Which have the same Overall similar diameter and width... I just don’t want to feel every pot hole.... Use a Google tire size chart and it should help. This will help to avoid rubbing... if you want to go with diff OD and Width... Good Luck!

It depends is you are talking about using stock CTS-V wheels.....19 X 9 on front....19 X 10 rear. Tires are 255/40 X 19 front and 285/35/19 rear. My base CTS came with 8.5 X 19 front and 9.5 X 19 rear stock oem. Tires are 245/45/19 front and 275/40/19 rear. Stock size CTS-V tire size should work OK on CTS size wheels with no problem. Diameters of all tires mentioned are similar. If you have bought aftermarket wheels you should check the offset to see if large tires will clear the fender openings. Also make sure the calipers clear the rotors.
