white nav screen

I just purchased a 2003 escalade it has navigation package and in the back it has headrest monitors and a dvd player under the seat. The navigation screen is white in the front and does not show anything on it. It does still play music and cds but you have to listen your way around. there is no adjusting anything but the volume. lol. I was wondering if there was a fix for this or if it means that the unit is shot. thank you for all your help.

Have you tried to unplug it and plug it back in? My nav screen in mine wasn't working at all I unplugged it and waited for a min then plugged it back in and it worked fine. I was told if I unplugged it I would have to bring it to the dealership to have a code put in so it would work again but didn't need to.
