My parents have a 2002 daimond white DHS that needs some touchup work to the rear bumper. I am going to buy a 2001 standard white (whatever the non pearl version is called) to replace it, due to some pretty deep gouges in the corner of my parents bumper, and the new one is pretty much perfect. Does any know if the standard white color is the same color as the base coat of the diamond white paint? I'm thinking if it is, then all i need to do is paint the midcoat pearl and new clear over the existing white paint and I'll be done. If not I'll scuff up the bumper and repaint the whole thing, but if I can save a nickel and still make it look like the rest of the car I'd rather do that.

I'm not sure what the base coat is. It might be the Cadillac Cotillion White. A body shop could tell you what the base coat is for sure.
