The RPO (Regular Production Option) code sticker is under the spare tire cover.

FE1 is soft spring passive suspension.

FE3 F45 is the sport suspension, active CVRSS suspension.

SLS was the economy "road cruiser', not the performance model.

your SLS probably has the FE1 - soft ride suspension system -
BUT - that is only HALF of the suspension equation -

you MIGHT have the electronic - F45 - struts and shocks -
OR you MIGHT have the non-electronic struts and shocks -

like Sub already said -
check the RPO sticker -

Thanks, I'm pretty sure it has the cvrss I know it has the electronic suspension. Just didn't know if there was a way to tell. My speaker box is 4 cubic foot and weighs like 125 pounds not including the dang 75 pounds for the speakers so its damn near impossible by yourself.

"pretty sure" doesn't cut it - yes or no is the answer.

You're playing with two different "suspension" systems.

The ubiquitous ELC - Electronic Level Control - compensates for extra weight in the trunk or rear seat. Most all of these Cadillacs have it. It uses a compressor, control head, height sensors, and air lines to shock bladders to do its job.

FE1 is the passive suspension with soft springs.

FE3 is one of 3 active suspensions with "sport" springs. (RSS, CVRSS, MRC)

The type of suspension is coded on the RPO sticker under the spare tire cover.

sometimes - close-enough ISN'T close-enough -

the only other way I know of is to get a build sheet of YOUR car -

I have never heard of a SLS with the FE3 - Sport Suspension -
remember - FE1 and FE3 refer ONLY to the stiffness of the springs and the diameter of the sway bars -

and ALL Seville - Deville - Eldorado models have ELC - Electronic Level Control -

as I indicated in post #3 -
you MIGHT also have the F45 - electronic struts and shocks -
OR you MIGHT have non-electronic struts and shocks -

I think a SLS could have been special ordered with F45/FE3 sport suspension. We have a couple of EURO SLS owners with that setup. Not common, though - especially for a U.S. dealer floorplanned vehicle.

A breakdown of the VIN build sheet for phillipmh06 car would give the correct info - or a photo of the RPO sticker under the spare tire cover.

Truth ^ ^ ^

When I ordered my '65 Chevelle SS I did a PB, P/S, A/C delete - open the hood and there was nothing in there but the 327/350 (and a battery).

Looking at the build sheets for several Seville TS cars shows that there were at least 4 floorplan option packages - and some of those option groups depended on the GM perceived demographics of the dealership sales area.
