Im trying to find the passenger side axle for a 2005 cts-v. I can find one anywhere online besides ebay. I need this ASAP. So somewhere that can do overnight shipping. Im waiting to hear back from oreilly's. They have to special order it from wherever they get it. Any help appreciated.

The current parts number 19148847, which available from several GM online suppliers - none are cheap. That part number is for the current replacement axle which is 1.50 inches in diameter as opposed to the original 2005 version which was only 1.25 inch in diameter - so if you look at used units the part number will differ. Additionally, since a number of CTS-V owners have converted to aftermarket axles there should be some available. If you have the time you might check the classifieds of all known CTS-V forums. Finally, you could go aftermarket e.g. GForce.
Are the left and right axles different? I found a left one.
They are different. The left axle (part number 19148846) is shorter than the right.

Also will an auto trans axle fit the manual trans car?

----------

And of course GM is out of stock of that axle. Just my luck. Im hoping to have someone on ebay overnight me one.

Not likely. The axles for the CTS Auto have different part numbers from the CTS Manual, and for
some reason are more expensive. Those Manual and Auto CTS part numbers also do not match the part numbers for the CTS-V, which, of course, only comes with a Manual.
Mac_henderson2001 i sent you a pm.

I wish you luck in your quest to find one
Gotta give a big thanks to mac_henderson for going out of his way to deliver the axle for me. Pretty much a life saver....

The 05 cts-v that I snapped the axle on was my step-dads. He passed just shy of two years ago from cancer and the car has sat since then, my mom has drove it only a couple times since then. It was his daily driver and has around 160,000 miles on it. Mom never lets me or my little brother drive it and ive driven cars faster than this cts v lol. So her and my brother were on spring break vacation and I decided to go out and have a little fun with the cts. Well on the second pull the axle snapped as soon as I get it into 2nd gear. I guess this is what I get haha. I know my step dad is looking down on me shaking his head and laughing lol. Lesson learned I suppose.

Also the 05 cts non v alxe DOES fit but the axle is 1/4" less thick.
