I assume your talking about the rear view mirror for the antenna itself.

did see in a previous post that in the 2008 srx the RKE module itself was in the rear cargo area on the right under some trim. 🤔

 

look on the main srx page - how to manuals, i posted a huge document showing all component locations

 

10-4 I will scan through it now.

I found a 2015 srx at a pull a part near me and hope to pull the new to me parts off that.
Trying to get a great idea of where they are located exactly before I start turning a wrench on the donor car....icy out here in TX right now and I want to be in n out lol

 

Thanks tripwire for that diagram document! I believe replacing these 2 components pictured will alleviate the short range on fobs, as I have already replaced the batteries on my 2 fobs.

remote start is worthless at 5-10ft

 

Update:
Went to the donor car today. On one hand the back had been gutted I assume for the lift gate stuff by the looks of it. Made my job getting the parts easier for sure but I wanted to see how to remove all that trim and stuff to get to them without breaking a bunch of plastic tabs.

anyone know of another repair write up that would be beneficial?

 

Ok so replacing the small antenna pictured in middle did not alleviate fob short range. Bought another fresh battery 🔋 for the fob just to double check that I didn’t get a bad battery but still same range man.

note that the 2012 is a square connector where as the 2015 is a circle connector still same 2 wires tho

at this point I need to grab a torq30 bit to tackle the rcdl module in right of cargo area

hunting for the torq30 currently, update coming later with hopefully resolved

 

There are 2 antennas believe it or not, one for sensing when the remote is close so you can pop the doors, the other is for the panic and remote start..........Me thinks, ...i know for sure that there is an antenna inside the plastic cover under the mirror....but i could be wrong let me find the manual...

Update: Ok found out that the 2010-2014 is a different style of said module. The 2010-2014 style has 4 connectors where as the 2015-2016 donor part has only 2 connectors.

Also there are 2 versions of said module depending on trim package from what I can tell

ie base vs performance

the passive keyless entry

the non-passive keyless entry

so most dealers want around $200 + for said part but I’m going to give Amazon a shot for $70 as most dealers quoted 3-5 ship time for part. Then there’s a eBay option with module key fob and ecm 🤔 I wonder if this is a plug n play option, any opinions?

Bad news is it must be programmed by gm tech 2 scanner which means no plug n play for diy ers.

Will be calling various local gm and Cadillac dealer around to get a quote for the programming labor if I have the trim off with module easily accessible. Also just today starting getting the tpms failure messages and no key fob message so it’s on the priority list

To access it I had to rely on the how to instructions for replacing the rear hatch motor

You have to take off the bottom trim piece that goes over the hatch hook looking down with the hatch open. After you remove the silver cargo rails.

Then you can remove the carpet and trim to the right.

You don’t have to take it completely off either, just the first half going towards the front of car. That’s enough to access said module.

 

Update: 70$ part off amazon and $160 programming fee at cadillac dealer and issues are resolved.

now i can remote start from 200ft away and use the onstar app to start from anywhere

thanks to all those who helped me narrow it down to the keyless remote module !
