I went to best buy to see aobut replacing my head unit. they told me that the thing int he dash is just a control center and the actual stereo is under a seat or in the trunk. Ugh. I want to know hard it is the replace the stereo and where it is.

I have a decent system in from my old car so all i really need is the power wires, the antenna, and the antenna 12v lead wire behind the dash.

has anyone done this? I hate not having a good CD player.

If not, is it easier to upgrade to the Bose system?

You might want to look into making the Bose system work better or get your wallet lubed up! The speaker systems in your car are not compatible with aftermarket stereo systems so to put after market in the car you really have to start from scratch! About the only thing G.M. put in there that you can adapt to an aftermarket unit is the holes.
