Where did you get your [used] V?

Hello,

I've been lurking for a few months now and have had my eye on a V for a couple of years. Since it's come out I've been checking eBay and Autotrader every once in a while just to feel around for used prices. Thing is, it seems that people on various internet fora have been acquiring used V's at far better prices than I've been able to find on eBay/AT.

So my question is, where did you find your CTS-V, how much did you pay, and what model year and mileage?

Right now it seems that the lowest prices are around $26k for '04-05 with 40-60k on the odometer. Best I've seen was an eBay auction (linked on a thread here, somewhere) for $24.5k for 37k (I think?) miles on an '04. I probably won't buy for another year, but I like to scope out early since I know finding good deals on used equipment takes a loooong time (boggles the mind how Carver amplifiers can retain 60% of their value 14 years later...). I'd like to put $3-5k down since I'd like to keep the loan under $20k.

Thanks for your info guys, and if there's anyone with a V around Savannah, GA, let me know if you'd like to earn free dinner. :bouncy:

I found mine on autotrader.com at a Ford dealership in Michigan. 04 w/ FG2 (they didn't tell me about that so they didn't know :D ), ~14500 mi, $28.8k. Prices will change a bit in the next year though with the introduction of the new body style / powertrain.
Private Party Purchase for me 29.9 for a 2004 Blk/Blk a month ago. It was new though (4600 miles!!!!!). Love it. Good price for a brand new car, it hadn't been driven in the rain.

John, is that your racer, or is this another for 'normal' driving?

2005 V, 8K miles, $37K, bought last year, Ford dealership, saw car on ebay, bought off auction. :)
2005 6K Miles CPO, got it for 37k ~6-8months ago. Bought mine at a caddy dealer.
found my 05 V in January at a cadillac dealer in Michigan thru a search on cars.com with 23,000 miles for $30,000
Bought used in 04 for $40 with 8,000 miles on it.13 grand in mods later with 41,000 on it.Come get it for 36,000.
My CTS-V is the very first one my Dealership recieved, built on 2/10/2004.

I sold it the day it came in to a long-time Customer of mine. 18 months later he traded it back in (bone stock, still had the original F1s on it) for an STS, and it now resides in my garage with a Certified 100,000 mile warranty.

My Salesman was awesome, too. Great guy, good personality, smart...handsome devil, too.....
Got my 04 with 11k miles for $41k. Supposedly, some GM exec drove mine, or so I was told. Only bad thing was the wheels were scuffed when they changed the F1's I guess. At least my tires were new, not that it mattered.
Got mine at CadiAuto in Illinois..05 with 5k on it for 33k
found mine on cars.com. 04 with 15k miles on it for 27k. Had to fly to minnesota to get it, but dealer paid for my airfare
What is the FG2? Is this a package some V's come with?

They are dealer installed optional shocks. Supposed to have better rebound than factory shocks. I have them. Some have said they help with the wheel hop. My wheel hop isnt horrible, so I have to believe it.
Thanks for all the responses, guys! I wish I had a little more spending cash at the moment, but I still need to be financially responsible when it comes to the toys. Spent way too much money on the camera as it is...

No V's in Savannah? Aside from dinner, I would offer to get a few photos of your car on Hutchinson Island (assuming cops aren't swarming around it). My coworker and I were screwing around a few months ago there...would be nice to have a V in some shots.

^^...but that's not green. ;)

I'm not responsible enough for a crotch rocket. I am thinking about a Victory though.
My next bike may be (ouch this hurts to say) a BMW K1200S. Pricey, but half sportbike half tourer. And on-the-fly adjustable suspension for whichever mood you are in.

Victory is cool though. Always good to buy American. And at least it is different, rather than being a dime-a-dozen Harley.

I wish I could say that I ride, but alas, I am only a photographer.

But on the issue of motorcycle [powerplants], any Formula SAE guys on here?
