I went to see what they were about, they told me 3 month wait:cookoo:Slywun said:. Stated they wouldn't take anything less than $58,000 for it ($15,000 over the sticker on the window).
I hear it's a drivers race with the margin of error on the V's 6 spd a disadvantage. (What I've heard, not necessarily what I believe or experienced).
There's the added weight on the SRT8 also so you can't compare hp straight up.Luna. said:A friend of mine informed me that one of the SRT-8s he is currently working on dynoed at ~340 rwhp.
Interpret as you wish.![]()
I'm well aware that there is added weight in the SRT-8. I didn't make a comparison--I just said what I was told the rear-wheel HP of one particular SRT-8 was...AmesCTS-V said:There's the added weight on the SRT8 also so you can't compare hp straight up.
I've always heard this is a pretty even race.
340 is about right, as you can expect on average about a 20% drivetrain loss thru an automatic.AmesCTS-V said:Yeah that is some serious drivetrain loss.
Hi Boys...I watch your forum cause I love your cars. Most of the SRT8s are dyno'd at 367 rwhp..Luna. said:I'm well aware that there is added weight in the SRT-8. I didn't make a comparison--I just said what I was told the rear-wheel HP of one particular SRT-8 was...![]()
I thought for certain that the rwhp would be a *little* higher on the SRT-8 vs. the V, as it's a 6.1 liter Hemi, rated at 425 HP. I found it interesting that it was so close to the stock V numbers. Granted, this is one SRT-8, but interesting nonetheless.
Like I said, it was merely the results of one SRT-8.SRT8/BMW said:Hi Boys...I watch your forum cause I love your cars. Most of the SRT8s are dyno'd at 367 rwhp..

seems like the 425 rating is a bit conservative (more like 450). Over on our forum there seems to be a lot going on with mods now, SCs, Headerss, etc....
Well, it WOULD be if dealers weren't marking them upwards of $15k!! :cookoo: That is so disappointing to me...SRT8/BMW said:srt8 is great bang for the buck.
Agreed (with the emphasis on "greed") I have seen several attempts, unsuccessful mind you, to sell them on e-bay with a huge markup. It seems to be the worst in Cal..Luna. said:Like I said, it was merely the results of one SRT-8.Perhaps he had a dog, or the guy misquoted me.

If you remember, they were also asking over MSRP when the "V" came out, which was then "lowered" to MSRP. I would bet that no SRT-8 owner paid more than list (or lower) for their car. By the way, what is MSRP for the SRT-8? I have a friend that bought a 2006 300-C with the hemi (not the SRT-8) and that listed for $42,000.SRT8/BMW said:Agreed (with the emphasis on "greed") I have seen several attempts, unsuccessful mind you, to sell them on e-bay with a huge markup. Mine was msrp of $45800, fully loaded 2005 (one of only 252 made- -before they had kicker option and rear dvd). I thought that was very good "bang"...blutooth, in dash 6 disc CD, nav system, satellite radio, etc..NIK said:If you remember, they were also asking over MSRP when the "V" came out, which was then "lowered" to MSRP.
