Wheels for CT5V

12130 Views 86 Replies 20 Participants Last post by  LilithV'23
I'm currently in process of buying wheels for the stock summer tires. Looking at Fast FC04 wheels in metallic black, looking for any form of review of durability, etc even if on a different vehicle.
Got a month or two before I need to swap from my winters to the pilots.
Thanks

I'd say base your choice on what you want to do with the stock wheels since the 19's have plenty of sidewall already.
If you like em enough for summer bling bling, keep em and get 18's for the plushier ride.

If you don't want to keep the stockers for summer bling, then, keep them as winter wheels & buy new 19's (or 20's) for summer !
(Careful to get at least 8.5 wide & 35 offset, so the stance is similar, since stock wheels have 8.5 & 29, anything less will be more inward and less aggressive. This is why I went with 9.5 wide & 35 offset, this gives me a 7mm wider stance, and room for 275's once the stock tires are shot.)
Phenomenal advice - especially about the offset. Thank you!!
Just walked out to grab something from the car, thought it looked super sexy with the rims so took a pic haha!

Brand new to forum and to owning a cadillac. Bought a certified used 2020 with 18k miles a month ago. Was in market for 340i new but got tired of trying to find one that was not deconcented due to chip shortage. Found a deal locally to good to be true on a v and pulled the trigger. Very happy so far with that call. Just ordered black 20 inch niche m117s and PS4s to finish the look. I don't mind the ride of 20s. Have stock ones on my camaro ss which is same platform as caddy and it rides great. Can't wait for my new ones to come in and see how they ride and look
Make sure to post up a pic when you get them in, not sure what tires do you have on currently? ps4s' made a big difference on my car especially in curves and winding roads. I too was in the market for a m340 used but got a crazy trade in value for the my caddy that I thought would be silly to pass up.

Got rims and tires on today. Looks great. Will post pics soon

Okay here are the pics. I'm very pleased with how it turned out

That's a non-bw? Man the wheel gap looks so much better with 20s. Looks stellar, like the paint colour too.
I agree, those look great. Do you have the full specs on the wheels? Did you go with the OEM 20” tire size or something taller?

I’d be surprised if those are stock tires. I just put on another set of 20’s with a 245/40 tire and it closes the wheel gap a good amount.
Although I wish I would’ve gone with a 255 width like the OE tires but love the bigger 40 over the OE 35

I was thinking the same. I have the Onyx package with 20’s and mine doesn’t look that good haha.
Post some pics w your oe 20s, could help someone in the future that's purchasing a new set of wheels
I’m headed to the car wash shortly and will take some later today for a point of reference.

Thanks guys. I love the color myself. Can't loose green in the walmart parking lot among all the Grey's. I did go with factory size tires. 245/35/20. The rims are 20 x 8.5 with a 35 offset. Fits great and no rubbing at all. Sits the tires a bit further out for a much more aggressive look.

Here is my V with aftermarket 20's that are 9.5 width. Onyx package 20s are 8.5.

A couple of other things I'm not a fan of -
  1. I couldn't use my stock cadillac center caps on the new wheels - the cap was too small to fit into the new ones so consider that when buying new wheels.
  2. I couldn't use the factory blacked out lug nuts because they were too wide to fit into the new wheels as far as the hole opening.
  3. Not a fan of the "R" branding but whatever.
  4. I wish I would've gone with a 255/40 tire instead of the 245 to reduce the stretched look of the tire and have it more squared off which would also make the wheel look wider from the back.
Overall I do like the wheels but I'm not in love with them. I plan on going with a new set next year based on the things I learned.

Here's a bunch of pics for you guys.

245/40s on 20s close the gap so much, looks really good compared to oe. If someone ever advertises springs that work without issues for MR like guys have found on Camaro's would be a big hit I'm sure. A tiny bit less ground clearance (not slammed) would make these cars really look killer between wheel gap and a lower look without the illusion of side skirts and lips.

I agree. I’ve been looking for a way to lower the car just a bit but no one trust worthy seems to have an option out there.
Probably because of the AWD set up.

Your ride looks very nice. I do agree with the 255s vs 245s though. My only regret. When these tires wear out ill switch to 255s
Sorry I needed a correction. The tires are 255 35 20. Didn't want to mislead anyone who wanted a similar look thanks
That's gorgeous AF. Congrats.

#1 shouldn't have been a surprise, as wheel center caps are not a standardized size. I've played with cars from a variety of brands over the past few decades - domestic, Japanese, and Euro - and have never heard of aftermarket wheels that could use the OEM center caps, with the exception of wheels that were specifically made to be knock-offs of factory wheels.

Measure the diameter of the new center caps, go on Ebay, and find yourself some suitable adhesive Cadillac emblems. That'll take care of #1 and #3 at the same time! If you don't find something you like there, reach out to someone like Rebadge Designs - he can do all sorts of custom stuff.
