I have every single mount creative steel sells and also their wide wheel lower control arms that are supposed to be almost like a ladder bar for traction. It will still wheelhop. I’d go for the axel fix but even at that extent I don’t think the wheelhop will completely go away especially at the track. The 8.8 rear kit creative steel sells will fix it and some! It’s slightly heavier but you will have a 800+ hp rear that’s tried and true!

Wheel hop in late 2018...?

For starters I have just recently purchased an 04 sunroof delete mp122 LS6. The car is near showroom quality (needs minor paint correction). It has a stage 2 monster clutch, stainless works headers with a catless corsa and makes 577rwhp... 450 ft pds at 3 thousand rpm. It has CS engine and trans mounts as well as the cradle bushings. It also has the wider control arms to clear the 10 wheels in the rear. The CV is cooked on the driveshaft after a hard drive 4 hours home. Least of my concerns.

It hops bad. Not only that but its not aligned properly at the moment (maybe 300 miles on the new wheels and tires as well as the blower) so when it hooks it wants to freight train your ass straight off the road. The diff is stock so I know it will let go one day as I have an extra gen 3 to get me to the 8.8. The wheel hop will blow this thing into a thousand pieces if I don't get it under control as fast as its trying to kill me. I just want to prolong its short life before I put the gen 3 in it.

Were coming up on the 14 year wheelhopaversary of the gen 1 V platform and the only definitive answer I have are axle kits... and V2 cradle swap (not too enticed by that one). Is their anything out their on the market today that people use and know that works? Has anyone gone the custom route and found good results? I've seen an entire control arm/diff/cradle brace auto cad design on facebook but their is only one person who has it and I'm not willing to be a test mule

The rear wheels have too much camber, which I'm suspecting to be the cause of my cars willingness to kill me, but here is where it gets weird. Even at normal speeds it almost feels like the whole ass end of the car is moving on the car. It feels almost like a dog walking SRA on a third gen TA. I need answers from people with experience. Happy to be apart of the Cadillac crew and hope to make many friends on here!

I had '04 CTS V6 back when it was a new platform (lease).

Just bought a '05 V for extra vehicle/play car that can carry fam to church, shopping, soccer games, etc.

I am interested also in reduction of WH. As mine is basically stock and in VERY good condition I don't want to get into swapping axles...
Replaced all the bushings/mounts when I got mine about weeks ago and it drives and rides like a different vehicle...now to reduce WH. I don't expect to get rid of it altogether.

Cheers,

If you have already replaced bushings all the way around, then the next bit is axles. They had the biggest reduction in wheel hop on my '04V.
I've done cradle bushings and had a KARSIII setup. Still had WH, so never tried to spin the tires. Installed the maggie and could never really push my foot down in 1st and 2nd gears without worrying about grenading the diff. Now, after installing the axles, I can dump the clutch at 3k RPM in 1st gear, the motor will bounce off the rev limiter while spinning the rears with zero WH. I can take off leisurely, shift into 2nd gear at 2k RPM, put my foot down about 3/4 of the way, and the rears will break loose without WH. If you want to eliminate WH, the best way is to go to aftermarket axles. If you plan on keeping the car and enjoying it, I'm sorry to report it's the best way to go.

That's not tremendously expensive anyway. I've e-mailed Hendrix to check on status and installation.

Also looking at BMR trailing arms and their anti-wheel hop kit.

Update - I've ordered a TAB from GEN1V.com. Trailing arm brace. From the look of it, discussions with the owner of GEN1V (e-mails) and YouTube video of installed part I have high hopes.

I will post back when I get it installed for before and after reviews.

I can tell you I have a basically stock Gen1 - CS diff bushing and bushing block, but that's it as far as rear end mods. With OEM (likely worn) cradle parts and bushings this should give you (and me!) a good idea if this is a partial fix or not. At $300ish delivered its worth the try.

At this point WH is SUBSTANTIAL! My previous fun car '09 Challenger SRT8 WH'd bad...but this is a whole new level of wheel hop!

Next will be axles.

Stay tuned.

CTScop, any updates?
YES!

Since my last post I've retired...and started my life of leasure...which is to say doing all those projects thw wife has wanted done for years! Forgot to update.

Gen1V.com trailing arm brace installed.

Wheel hop reduced to nearly zero. MAJOR change for my car. I did have the trailing arm bolts loosen up after a few weeks (started getting clunking in back) but some blue lock-tite and all is good.

For the price would do it again without hesitation.

Cheers,
