I've got a stock 07 and looking into the wheel hop issue. I see many are changing out the stock rear axles, but I also see others who have changed engine / transmission mounts. Both methods seem to work.
What is the best / correct way to fix the wheel hop ?

Thanks in advance.

The stock axles are identical and have therefore the same tortional characterics. There are more detailed descriptions contain in several previous threads, for example https://www.cadillacforums.com/foru.../190821-wheel-hop-differential-questions.html.

GM remedied this condition on post-2007 CTS-Vs (V2s) using assymetric axles. The differences in the left and right axles involves both diameter and density and, therefore achieve significanly different tortional characteristics.

Thats interesting and thanks for the info. The AWK wheel hop kit from BMR can make a difference though correct? I've been reading about both to fix the problem. I'd like some axles but I won't be slinging $1600, lol. I guess the G8's had assymetric axles as mine did not have any wheel hop issues. Nice and smooth.

The axles are the only wheel hop remedy that I can recommend.

There have been several "remedies" over the years for the wheel hop issue, inlcuding the BMR kit. If you search this forum long enough, you can likely find at least one "success story" for each of the various remedies, but you will also find that none of axle-alternative remedies have a very good overall success rate. If memory serves, the only remedies that caused real problems were diffenrentilal braces, which may have caused differential case breakage in some cases.

Man, haven't been on this forum in years. There's been so much developed for the V1 in that time frame and it seems like this forum has missed it all. Still talking about BMR and axles here? Literally like going back into a time machine coming in here.

Got it.. Thanks for the info. Kinda sucks. I added poly bushings to the LCA's in my Camaro..Problem solved! This beast needs axles which isn't cheap! :ill:
Some guys swear that cradle bushings had a major positive impact. Try it first. Report back.

As long as there are stock V1s out there, WH will be an issue.
