One rule of thumb on parts cars is to figure out the value of the major parts then divide by two.
One rule of thumb on parts cars is to figure out the value of the major parts then divide by two.ok , I'm looking at a parts car to buy as a spare, 87 with a hardtop, 150000 miles, sitting for 3 + years outside, bad tranny ( as far as the owners kid knows who is selling it ) and an unexplained Salvage title ( car in California ) again, kid says it was never wrecked, got from a police impound or something, years ago.. I havn't seen it yet, so couldn't check for previous bodywork. what should such athing go for? I know that individually the parts are worth more then the car if someone has the time, space and skill to remove them and market them,, but just to the average collector who has one already and may need stuff later on... what would you pay?
