I frequently visit these forums and lately I have been noticing that its been running slower. I donate and recommend constantly that all the other members donate to support this site but this site is starting to get too commercial. With the latest change... adding Vibrant Media’s IntelliTXT technology... reading theads is starting to get annoying with all the underlined words linked to advertisers. Is this site doing that bad that we need to give up features that we like such as avatars, attachments, etc. and then have to have all the advertising to bring in additional revenue?

IntelliTXT can be disabled by the individual if you wish. Sal tells us how here;

Attachments are back. Avatars will be back. And yes, you can disable the Intellitext... I need to hire a server administrator for security purposes and it's not cheap. I've already given up my night job to spend time here and I can't afford to hire somebody without these ads. Who knows? Maybe they won't bring in enough to do anything with. I'm hoping that's not the case. We really do need somebody to be available full-time to watch the server. We're getting very popular and we're on the radar now...
