Mine was just completly rotted, i was wondering because I dont think those flat ones that sit in the rear bumper matched the color of the car? I thoght i saw them as black? The ones i am getting are the a.b.s. greyish ones. I paid 219 for the whole rear. I thought it was a good deal from autobody fillers usa. They are comming monday and i can not wait. If i have problems i will be back.

Black? When? Both my '79 and '90 had silver.

84 Deville Didnt your 83 Deville have black
Nah, in that picture it was rotted like yours, and I sold the car before I had the piece installed. On all the originals I've seen, it's silver to blend in with the bumper.

My local Cadillac dealership body/paint shop head honcho said they use paint code "WA 9021" for the rear plastic pieces. He said there was no "official" GM code, but the above was the mix they've been using for many years. It also matches up with Dupli-Color spray can #DSGM340 Silver Metallic.

Interesting, didn't know that. I went ahead and made that piece out of 20 ga steel, then primed and painted it to match the car. Too easy not to make it. Bought the other fillers for the back though. I can see why it would be silver since it sits in line with the chrome bumper.

Well, when they started the particular style in 1977, the pieces under the trunk lid and around the license plate were also silver. But it's supposed to blend in more with the chrome bumper.

Yeah, those are always the first to go, then go the bumper fillers. Here's mine, or at least it used to be. Methinks that when folks spill gas on it, it dries out faster. So I'd always wipe it off.

I think they were all silver from the mid-80's on. But since Caddies in the 70's and early 80's were a little more color-themed, your's probably matched the car.
