Ron, I received the $77 for the basic XM service in January. I called customer care and told them a freind had just received $77.00 deal. The rep said ok, and that will be $91.61 with tax, artist royalty fee, and a $2 invoice charge (they don't have a credit card of mine). Received the invoice in a few days and paid it.

I had to threaten to cancel to get the $77 rate. Had them mail an invoice to pay by Cashiers check. Don't give them your CC # or they will try to renew you each year at full rate.

Thanks for all the help. I just called and asked them for the $77 dollar rate and also for the $3.99 per month Nav Traffic. They are supposed to send me a new invoice which I will pay by check. Hopefully it will be what was agreed to on the phone. If not, I will be calling them again.

Tell them you want a one time charge to your credit card. You will NOT automatically get charged when renwal comes due.

They call me once every other week with the deal. I keep telling them I don't want it on my car.
They would not give it to me on my wife's car unless I signed up for 3 years. So I will have to call and cancel before the year is up and wait for them to come crawling back again.

what gives? i called w/ the 77 deal and the guy talked to his supervisor - then he came back and asked if i got a letter w/ a code - i said no my neighbor told me about it and he said hold - then he only offered a 169 deal for a year - i said no thanks hoping he would counter but that was that....wth?

Similar thing happened when my XM Everything subscription expired on Mar 6, 2011. XM reps refused to allow the $77 renewal deal, called my bluff, closed my account. But then on same day I searched and found $77 discount code online, called XM back, reopened my account, and got 15 mos. for $91.72 total (12 mos. + 3 mos. free for reopening my closed account, ha!). That's actually a better deal than 12 mos. $77. Thanks again, XM.

they offered me LIFETIME for 450....same as they did on the escalade....so i said ok......they billed my credit card for 450......then when i checked on the internet it listed it as ONE YEAR......i called and got some lady who's english was terrible....kept me on the phone for 45 minutes till i blew my top and hung up.....so isent an email about it...and they said liftetime plan was 699...so i asked them why did they offer it for 450-?? finally got some refund, but ended up paying 220 for xm everything for one year....i am convinced that XM is run by offshore pirates......next year i'm just going to keep more CD's in thecar.....

Went through the yearly XM charade XM 2 weeks ago, they wanted $172, after being transferred to cancellation dept an unusually pleasant rep asked if I would accept a $77 total rate (no additional royalty fees or taxes), assured me it would be a one time charge to credit card, said that one month before expiration I would be sent bill for the next year, adding "...at which time you can call and cancel or try to get another promo deal."

Oh the games people play...

Still waiting for my credit card to be credited for 3rd subscription I was charged (I only have 2 vehicles with XM). It was showing as credit on my account instead of refunded to my card?? I called and they said it would be back on within a week. :anibs:

I hate them. Overpriced and mismanaged...a great idea gone wrong.
