What is the correct way to close the hood of your escalade?

I have a 2002 Escalade. Whenever I close the hood, I have to slam it down very hard to get it to close. If I don't slam the hood down very hard, then it won't close. Is this the correct way to close the hood? Can anyone tell me the right way to close the hood on a Escalade. On my Lexus all I have to do is just push the hood down and it would close but not on a Escalade:( This is my first American car:) I would like to know if my escalade is reliable?

Just picked up a 22 escalade sport and was installing a air filter last night and could not close the hood , was about to bring it to dealership when I slammed it shut because I was pissed off , my first American POS , been with bmw and Lexus for years , not for nothing a $115,000 auto should not have to slam hood to close it , actually scary, never been to a dealership in over 25 years other than a oil change ,

Just remove the hood and drive around without it. Problem solved. Try posting in the correct group.
