Any body have an Idea what is going to be the final # of cars produced for this year. At the Monticello Motor Club(NY) Cadillac Test Drive day in November ,We were told that there were only 79 cars in the country. Has this production # been increased? Does GM expect to continue producing the V series for 2010 with all the hype going on about BK?

The original target was approx 7000 units per year. But that was before the economy tanked and GM started previously unscheduled plant closings. It will almost certainly be less. Finding out production numbers for the Vs may be more difficult than one might think. I wouldn't be surprised if it's closer to V1 numbers. (3000-3500 per year)

How many CTS can be built in a day. I just cant see how there would be 40,000 in a year... That would be over 200 cars a day "with a 200 day work season". I just cant see that being done.

Another thing, Engine production, It takes hours PER motor to build. So a good tech maybe 3 motors safely a day? I just cant see even 3000 CTSV being made this year. I was thinking in the hundreds, like 800 tops.

I wonder how we/I can find out how many 09V's will make their way up here to Canada. I know that there were very few STS-Vs sold up here.

I have seen a half dozen so far up here at dealers, all Auto's.... I can't imagine more then 15-20 09V's making there way up here.... but I could be way off.

STS-V may be cancelled but GM has a "solid business case" for the CTS-V.

From Car and Driver.com:
On the high end of the GM spectrum, Cadillac’s STS-V finds itself with an uncertain future, as the company is currently not taking orders for the car, but has not yet decided if it will resume taking them. On the other hand, Cadillac spokespeople are adamant that a solid business case exists for the CTS-V—which is currently accounting for roughly one-quarter of all CTS sales—and the scrumptious wagon is still on the roster for 2010, too.

1/4 of all CTS sales? Hard to believe. I guess only GM knows the real numbers.
