what is that damn smell, ive got a 94 deville 4.9 141,xxx miles and when idling strong fumes come from exhust what in the hell is causing this, someone help before i die...:gg:

if it smells like rotten eggs chances are its your catalytic converter

Your car may be running rich because of a dead injector or bad/sticky fuel pressure regulator. Try spraying WD-40 into the FPR nipple by removing the vacuum hose. Then, put it back on and then blip the throttle about 10 times. Take it around the block and see if that helps.

See my tip...this happened to my 91 Deville and it was a bad FPR and one bad injector.

Remove the vacuum hose from the FPR, then simply spray a lot of WD-40 in there. Put the hose back on and start the car up. Blip the throttle about 10 times and take it for a drive. You can repeat the procedure too without harm.

uh... as far as i know not running premium in a 4.9L is a bad idea, the motor is set to use the higher octane IE: timing and such... and with lower octane you'll get more detonation = bad.
