Also known as Average Fuel Economy, from the Cadillac User's Manual for my 2018 XT5 Premium Luxury. I typically display it in the right segment and reset it when I fill up. It disappeared over the last few days and has been replaced by the Fuel Economy "Trend" display, which isn't the same thing and is best displayed in the center segment since it is too large for the right or left segments. I scroll through all of the DIC display options and Average MPG is no longer there! See the attached photo clip showing what is there.

How could this happen? I do have software update downloads set to download in background (Settings>>Software Information>>Update Preferences>>Download in Background>>ON). Does this stuff update automatically and is Cadillac updating to buggy code? Has Cadillac permanently gotten rid of it because computed MPG is not even close to real world calculated MPG (in my case, with every fill-up calculated by hand, the computed mileage is high by over 10%)? Could a "Return to Factory Settings" get it back? I hesitate to press that option because I suspect that I will not be really happy with the results.

Please, Loubiere. That is obvious (and is stated by me above). What I'm saying is that the option to display "Average MPG" (or precisely what it is/was called) in any of the windows, large center, smaller left and smaller right, scrolling up or down through the various options, is no longer there. That option has either been replaced by the "Fuel Economy (mpg)" option (as seen in my attached photo) or, if the "Fuel Economy (mpg)" option has been there all along for the smaller left and right windows (I don't remember specifically whether it was there all along or not), the "Average MPG" option has simply been eliminated.

Anyone else see this change? Does anyone know just what a "Return to Factory Settings" will do, so I am prepared for what it does when I do it?

Nick, does your post just above mean that you also do not have the "Average MPG" option on your DIC? If you are asking me to provide a pic, no, I can't provide a picture since the option is no longer there.

Nope, it was because Loubiere said he has it and I don't recall it. It might not have been included on the 17 models, but I'm going to look soon...

. . . you've gone into the "Options" menu and then "Info Pages" to make sure that Average Fuel Economy is checked, right? Perhaps it somehow deselected itself?
That was it! And I don't understand how it got removed from the list unless, like you said, it "deselected itself". Only my wife and I drive the car, it hasn't been serviced, wife doesn't mess with things (actually she is afraid to touch the DIC controls!), it is safely sequestered inside the garage, I had forgotten about the Options menu and haven't been there, etc., etc. The only reasonable answer is that gremlins somehow got into the car .

The good news is when I went to the Options menu I found some more things to turn on, like Trip Mileage 2. Thanks, name...

There is a chance that an auto update added the new mini (L or R) Fuel Econ option, and that one in the update was turned on by default and the other Avg Fuel was default turned off.
