(2000 SLS) So, I ran over this in the street in front of my house. It's some kind of cover from underneath the front of my car. I have no idea how it came off.
Then this other piece was dangling off from underneath the front passenger side - just underneath the headlight. It was connected to rubber hosing.
You can drive it, just don't drive in the rain, or near any puddles. Water will kill the pump. If the pump and cover are undamaged, mechanics wire can be used to reattach the cover. Otherwise, you'll need a new pump and cover.
You can also get the fasteners for the big lower air deflector at your local Lowes DIY Home Center. That's where I got mine. The have a selection of automotive fasteners for a very reasonable price. Plus, you can get them on weekends....
