I know the value on these RWD cars has been on the up and up for clean, low mile examples. I'm really craving a 5.0 91-92 Brougham, the one with the soft ride suspension.

I'm just curious, as my old 1991 Brougham D'elegance, with the sunroof, CD player, wire wheels, and 5.7 V8 was $5000 back in 2008, that car had 101k miles and was a solid #2- on that scale of 1 to 5.

This will be a car I require the A/C to work, has mint paint, nice interior, no rust, etc. I'm planning on driving this car on road trips, and keeping the Honda S2000 I plan on buying for just crazy drives on the back roads.

Can I buy a nice, reliable RWD Cadillac for $5000 now days???

^Right... You go to look at and find that it has been sitting in the woods for the last 6 years, and there is a dead snake in the tailpipe.

Looking through my local Craigslist, I've found a few good Broughams ('86-'92) for less than $3,000. I didn't look too much into those adds, to get the break down of problems (I was looking more in the under $900 range, and didn't want a duplicate car), but the cars looked clean.

I found this add in Columbus OH, which seems to meet all your specifications (and its only 400 miles away)

So I would say there are plenty of good $5,000 Cadillacs; you just need to do a lot of searching to find one.

Every picture I take has the date from when I bought the camera in 07. Just like the time is still flashing 12:00 on my VCR.
I'm sure the seller does not bother with it either.

I search for cars all the time, basically instead of watching TV.

In the last 6 months Ive seen 2 real nice 5.0 91-92 Broughams in that price range, I think I posted them in the stickey.

THe most recient one was in Los Angeles, not to far from LAX, I thought of going and getting but money or the lack of got in the way.

So the answer to the question is yes, will it be easy, NO. I spent literally 18 months, until I found my 79 coupe.

They're available here in LA a lot for between 3500 and 5000. If you find one here in the LA area that interests you, shoot me a PM, and I'll be happy to check it out for you. Could be your first road trip! :)

I picked up my '93 Roadmaster over six years ago. Got her for $1800. There was very little wrong with her, and a paint job and a couple new interior door panels and she would have been a very sweet ride. I think $5000 could buy a VERY nice car of that era.
