Hi all I am thinking about buying a 2002 sts for parts car, I have a 2003sts. are most parts the same?

early 2002 STS has the F45 suspension -
late 2002 and 2003 STS have the F55 suspension -

everything else is the same -

F55 started on build date 1/15/02.

Compare the RPO stickers. While the 2 bodies would be pretty close to identical, option packages can make quite a difference in accessories and stuff such as sunroof, sound system, some body modules can be different.

If the 2002 is a F45 car then NONE of the suspension control hardware or electronics will swap - your car is a F55 MRC vehicle - totally different suspension control system from prior to 01/15/02. The build date is on the driver's door tire specs sticker.

Your Magnetic Ride Control is special - Google "lord delphi magnetorheological suspension system". Our cars were the test mules for the later Corvette and Ferrari suspensions which then worked their way into other upscale GM cars.

Hi guys thx for quick response, I dont know what suspension it has yet it has abs and suspension error. I dont need suspension parts, couple weeks ago
I got the abs, tc, and stability control error hoping its just ground, then last week my coil pack start to fall wreckers dont have any and I have a problem
paying $350 for 1 after market coil pack. So $1000 for 2002 with 212000km I can get lots of good parts off it.

Do you guys know if the paint is the same, I am going to put front doors on my car?

Paint colors are probably the same.
The "coil Pack" is called an ignition cassette.
You can get more info about your error messages by pulling the DTC's. Be sure to post the code definitions along with the codes.

............ and the 2002 and 2003 ignition coil cassettes with ICM are the same. And both colors are the same cassette, so you have 2 spares.

2 Yrs I went to wreckers and got a cassette because cylinder 6 was miss firing (dont know how many km was on it). Dtc is p0308=Cylinder 8 Misfire Detected, I check
injector sounds & ohms are fine so must be cassette again.

The ABS, TC, and stability control error happened when I turned into unplowed parking lot so hoping just a ground. Codes are ABS c1214, ABS c1248 from my
understanding the c1248 and and stability control error is triggered because C1214

C1214-System Relay Contact or Coil Circuit Open,
C1248-EBCM Turned the Red Brake Warning Indicator On
