I have a "whap whap" sound coming from my left front sort of like a tire with
a flat spot on it. I took the wheel off and down to my tire store for them to
look at it, the manager said the tire was cupped on the inside and needed to
be replaced, ok new tire , same problem, switched the two front wheels and
same problem. Swapped the right and left hubs with each other, and same
problem, I raised the front , removed the two wheels (lug nuts on rotors)
started the car put it in drive and put a stethoscope on each hub, no noise
to speak of . Does anyone have an idea ?

Thanks ,
Dave

No, the noise stays at the left front, after a new tire I thought a bad bearing but after swaping the left with the right it was still there.

I called O'Reilly auto parts today and ordered a new half shaft, I'll reply
after changing that.

Thanks,
Dave

Update ! Changed the left half shaft, dog gone! , its still there, took the
new tire back today its been losing 10psi every other week.

They found part of a bar code sticker on the bead of the tire.

I guess its back to the drawing board.
