About a week ago I was driving in rain/snow for about an hour and when I stopped I noticed there was a LOT of water on the drivers side under my floor mat. I thought maybe there was a hole in the firewall where they ran the previous owner's stereo cables through. Well, it rained again last night and when I got in it this morning to go to work, the driver's side floor was wet again. That ruled out the hole in the firewall since it got wet just sitting htere. It's right in the center of the floor board so I'm thinking it's got to be running under the carpet and padding from somewhere and collecting there in the center. Any ideas where this water could be coming from? Maybe a leaky windshield?

Do you have a sunroof? If so, the drain could be clogged. I'm not sure where they let out.

Yes, I do have a sunroof. I didn't know there was a drain on them.

I think I found it. The previous owner had installed all kinds of stereo crap in the truck and had run new wires to the door speakers. Well, the seal connecting to the body is not tight against the metal so I think as water ran down there it was leaking in through that. I'll throw a little silicon between there and seal that up good and hopefully keep a dry floor after that. My carpet and padding is SOAKED right now.

Sorry to hear about that. You will want to get as much water out of the carpet ASAP. If you have a shop vac use it, otherwise go to a carwash and use one of those vacs. Last thing you want is the interior smelling due to mildew.

I think factory sunroofs have weep holes and a hose that runs down the front pillars and drain outside the body...not positive though. If your silicone job doesn't work, open the sunroof and look around the edges fro drainage holes.

I'd be interested to know if you fixed your problem. I have the same problem on the passenger's side, same scenario. It drips in from the middle. I've had the dealership look at it twice. First time, they replaced the jute under the carpet and the insulation around the door. It happened again the next time I drove in a hard rain storm. It's happened when it sits in the driveway during a hard rain storm. I just took it in for service last week and had them look at it again. They can't get it to duplicate the problem by running water over the windshield. I haven't had any modifications done to it so not sure where the water could be coming from.

I put some black silicon around that seal and it rained two days later and floor was dry so at this point I'm thinking I have the issue solved. So check seal(s) for the wires running to the door. If there's even a tiny space behind the seal, water will get in there.
