XLR Owners,
About six weeks ago I posted my being a little upset with GM about the employee discount sales program impacting the resale values of our cars.
Well, got rid of the STS this weekend and upgraded to the XLR.
Still haven't figured out all the bells and whistles yet, but I am extremely impressed with the handling, performance and fit and finish for the 06..
Just hope they have all the bugs out now after a couple of years.
I will keep everyone updated.:)

Hi acfromla.
congrats to your new XLR. I´ve got mine (here in Germany) now for 14 months and almost trouble free. The only thing was, two times the "check engine" light came on but on the diagnosis they could find anything wrong.
Well, I hope it stays out for good now.
What color is yours? Did you get the "star black" edition?

Thanks

Thanks Harry..
I have the standard Black Raven with Black interior.
The sales rep told me about the "Star Black" edition, but they didn't have one available.
How fast have you had the XLR up to on the Autobahn? I would be interested to know how well the car does at a constant high speed.

Hi acfromla, nice combination black/black but I always prefer a light interior color because on the black you`ll see any footprint.
Before my XLR a owned three C5 Vette`s, a 98, a01 and a02 the 02 was a convertible with 6 speed and I had this one up to 304 kph (189 mph)

Now to my XLR, it isn`t as sporty as my Vette`s was, I would say it`s the Luxury Sports Car but it runs great.
I´ve had it to top speed to 278 kph (172 mph) but about three weeks ago I´ve installed by my dealer the Corsa-exhaust, which I bought during my visit for vacation in the US in August. That was the best add-on I could do!
With the Corsa I´ve had it up to 289 kph (179 mph) and the sound is awesome. Not as loud as it was on my Vette`s but the Northstar sounds real powerfull. The stability at high speed are the same good as it was on the Vette`s. The faster you go, the more the car gets pressed to the road.
If you interested on the Corsa just let me know, Ive got the right contact-person where you get a good price.

Have a nice day

Harry,
Thanks for the information..I am impressed by 170MPH  , but not surprised.
My last sports car was a 1985 Vette....I call it the transformation year because of the leap in technology at that time.
This time when I wanted another sports car, the first car that I drove was the new Vette..Wow, what a car but not something I would want to drive everyday..Would definitely like to have one for the weekends if my pockets was bottomless.
The one thing that impressed me with the XLR was the great combination of luxury & performance, a wolf in sheeps clothing, and it's a car that I could drive every day.
Does the Corsa exhaust make the car louder inside when the top is up? That's the one aspect of the car I would not want to compromise.
If it doesn't, give me your Corsa contact.. Thanks for all your help.

Hi acfromla,
that`s what the forum is here, to get help and help someone else.
Since I knew the Corsa from my C5 Vette`s I thought it might be too loud in the inside but I was surprised that it isn`t. Well, it`s a little louder than the stock exhaust, it got a kind deep sound under normaly driving but when you floor it`s just wonderfull.
If you are interested just contact [email protected] the time to built it takes 7 days. The instalation took 1 hour at my dealership.
Today I´ll make some pics of it, because Jim from Corsa like to have some to show them to the people from Cadillac. If you want some please give me your E-Mail adr. because I always have trouble to post some here in the forum.
Have a nice day, here we got right now 10.05 am so you just might went to bed.
Harry
