So, yesterday I was outside working on random crap, and my phone starts blowing up.
A text and an e-mail simultaneously, and before reading them came another pair! After reading the first two, yet another pair chimes in!!
Cadillac diagnostic alerts: 1 - RF tire is low or flat... 2 - LR tire is low or flat.... 3 - ALL tires are low or flat....

It's getting new tires at the dealership!!:histeric:

MANY years ago and late at night I was driving my then one year old 1989 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo home after a very long day at the university. This was in the era when GM designers were enamored with as many control buttons as they could fit on the center stack, steering wheel, console, etc. and in changing the climate control setting I accidentally hit whatever key combination was used to put the car into a full test of its diagnostic display capabilities. I rapidly got a string of increasingly dire warning messages about the health of the car with the final two being, "stop engine immediately" followed by "exit vehicle now". It then flashed up a diagnostics finished, all tests passed message.

A couple of months later I was driving home after a day of sleet/snow/freezing rain and I noticed as I was getting out of town into the rural area that the headlights seemed very dim. The flip open headlights were frozen closed but of course the design engineer didn't put in a diagnostic message for that issue. I pulled into the parking lot of the last retail establishment on the edge of town and was able to convince the headlight covers to rotate into the operate position so that I could actually see the road for the remaining 20 miles home. Those hidden headlights looked cool but they could be temperamental just like the auto leveling headlights in the ATS.

I guess this is part of Onstar? If Onstar I keep waiting for something that has enough value to make me want to pay for it.

Seems like a close to pointless system, if I am in the car and a tire pressure is low the car tells me it is low. Or if I get in the car and the tire pressure is low it also tells me.

Surprised that the car is still monitoring the tire pressures when the when it is off.
