I came by at about 12am or so and found the site down. Did anybody else see this? It went back up shortly after but I think the total downtime was about 2 hours or so...

Do you know what happened? I didnt get to see the board down, but I did stop by and it was awfully slow around 12am MST...

How much BW do you go through a month? Whats your hosting costs like?

If you need to, I know some good places for very reliable servers with 10+ independent links, all about a gigabit. My server is with them, and they actually had their power go out a few weeks ago, and they were running on gens for 4 days straight.. 0 downtime. really cool.

But, tell me about the company you're dealing with. I'm sure it wont be long before we need more bandwidth and drive space...

The company I use is called RackShack. http://www.rackshack.net

They're in Texas, and what they do is just server wholesale. They have lots of servers, they have lots of bandwidth, and they slice it out. I have a Redhat 7.2 server running there, with a 100mbit pipe to the Internet, 400GB xfer per month, for $99. That's with a 60gb IDE hard disk too. No back up services or anything.. but you could do a remote incremental backup and that would be as good.

I've got nothing to say but good things about these guys.
