Does anyone else have problems with poorly sealed/ bad water pumps? I am about to get my 3rd one, possibly the 4th if I believe the dealer I bought it from, which I am not so sure I do. Was the dealer lying when he told me that Cadillacs habitually have problems with water pumps or was he trying to give a vague reason to why the water pump was bad at the time of me purchasing it, and now I need a new one most likely because he sealed it poorly. Any opinions on this problem, was he trying to pull a fast one or what?

You didn't mention how many miles between the pumps but I'm gonna assume that you didn'y put like 100K on each one. New pumps are fine as far as I'm concerned. If you're having problems, there's a problem.

Dealer mechanic messup

Turned out to be a messup on the dealer's part and not a bad water pump The dealer mechanic, for the sake of the dealer I'll say 'forgot', to put on some bolts on the water pump, so it was loose and leaking all over. Water pump = good after all. Thanx for the info Katshot. Yea, it would have been weird having a water pump that only lasted 2,000 miles.
