I have a 2007 DTS that was overheating. I had the water pump replaced, 2 gaskets and a new belt put on the car. When I went to pick it up it would not start. I kept turning it and I heard sound, but nothing. The mechanic came out and after a few times of trying to start the car it started. Now the car dies when its idle or just really hard to start. Would anyone know what could be going on? The mechanic keeps checking the wires to see what is wrong, but they can't find the issue. I was told that when replacing the water pump they had to get to the engine to do so and maybe a wire got damaged. They can't find what is wrong. Could anyone tell what the problem could be?

You say it overheated, tell us more about that? Any chance the engine was damaged?
Not that I'm aware of. The overheating happened one evening and I inched it home. I put antifreeze in it and when it cool down enough then I would drive it again for a little bit and it would go into the red section. I would shut off the car wait for a few minutes and do the whole process over again. 15 minute ride from work took about an hour and a half to get home. Before I went to go pick up the car they had done a road test for about 10 miles, But when I try to start it it just wouldn't start. Then the mechanic started it, But after about 10 minutes it cut itself off.

It's a mechanic that thinks it was a wire that got bent or damaged when he had to take off the housing of the engine to get to the water pump. I just know I need my car back and I'm trying to help him out as much as possible.
