Visor mirror lights

Here’s a dumb question. Are the lights supposed to automatically turn on when you lift up the cover to the front visor to use the mirror? Sun glare was really bad last night. We flipped the visors down and the wife wanted to look in the mirror. The lights didn’t come on and we couldn’t find a switch. Same thing on the driver’s side. I looked in the owners manual and couldn’t find anything.
