What about the video and audio IN in the mid console under the arm rest? What can I hook up there? I can't find anything about it in my user's guide...

I tried to hook up my laptop so i could play all my mp3's, but i can't find any way to get the sound from my laptop to my CTS system through that audio IN...

So, I am kinda clueless what I can do with this video and audio IN and how to activate/use it.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

:bonkers: Must be a previous owners mod. Did you buy this vehicle new or used? Obviously not factory. Check the wiring and see where it goes. Keep us posted.

From what I have read in the SM, you need to go into the main menu and select the TV input... then within that menu you can select the aux input..

just a guess...

And yes, that is export only and you need to have the TV module to make it work.

I hooked up my laptop again with a video-S cable. But now my television doesn't work anymore... dvd and nav still work though.

Oh, and I had no signal from the laptop on my screen even.

(nice color AsAkAs! I got the same)

Does your TV tuner work when you unplug the cable? Since the aux in is connected to the Nav system through the TV tuner, hooking up a video source may disable the tuner. If the TV still doesn't work after you unplug the laptop, then I'm out of ideas. I think you are the only one on the forum that has a euro CTS so we probably can't help you much out on this beyond speculation.

Maybe Eldo could fly you to Holland when the Tulips bloom.

Eldo, What's with the 70Eldo? Did you own a '70 Eldorado by chance?
What year is your Caddy? Are you native to the region? Nib-Sh!t huh:p

Cable is unplugged and still doesn't work... maybe a fuse?
The car is at the workshop anyway to have the airconditioner pump replaced. I mentioned the tv not working and they will look into it. It's still under waranty...

Weird though that they install this audio&video IN without any proper user guide to it...

So, you wanna know more about my EUROPEAN CTS? hahaha
The signal lights in the front bumper don't light up permanently when the lights are on. That's another European thing. They only function as signal lights, so they only flash...
Oh, and my speedometer goes to 260 (km/h) and I can switch it between units imperial and units metric. But I am not sure if yours don't have that...
I can switch between english, french and german. Though the english has a British accent. And, of course, my nav covers Europe only and there is no such thing as OnStar here.
Our license plates are different. They are wider and lower. Custom plates are a no way, though in Germany I could choose from the list, so I got an appealing HH MM 4422. HH for Hamburg, MM for my initials and 4422 to make it all double...
As my only choice for fuel for my 3.2 is premium, I pay over $7.- a gallon for my go juice here.
Let me know if you know any more differences...

Nice ride. I think every country but the US (we only go up to 160) has the 260 speedo although all CTS's can switch units. We can only switch languages using a Tech2 so switching through the DIC is not an option. The amber signal lights turn off when the headlamps are on just like yours.

Another difference is that the euro version CTS has rear fog lamps underneath the back up lamps. The domestic version only has back up lights.

Cool! Yeah I noticed the different rear units. Indeed I have rear fog lights. Thus, I also have that extra swith...

And Robert: Yeah, I also have a 70 Eldorado. That's some other thing! I owned 5 other Cadillacs before. A 64 Coupe DeVille and another 70 Eldorado (both towed away when I was in Holland, so I lost those) and 2 77 Sedan DeVilles. I lived in California for about a year and in Arizona for half a year and a month in Texas (DFW). First thing in Cali was getting me a Cadillac as we usually don't drive those monsters in Europe. But now I do! Kinda restricted with an 8.2 liter engine and gas prices so high hahaha
This CTS is actually my first new car I own. I lost my interest for any new Cadillac until the new 02 CTS came out. I thought Cadillac made a good move by that new design style as more younger people are appealed to it. Finally Cadillac lost its 'Old Peoples car' style! CTS and STS really look smart! The new Deville replacement still looks a little old man but it's definately an improvement!
So yeah, I am REALLY happy with my CTS. I proudly drive it as I glance the heads turning. It really does turn heads here in Europe!

Meanwhile my workshop contacted Cadillac to find out what is wrong with my television function. Of course i did not tell them I broke it when I was trying out the video IN... :)

And I contacted Cadillac Europe on this Video / Audio IN. I hope they can provide me with a proper manual.

Wow, so the CTS is so limited here that people got their CTS from Cali?
Anyway, you need a picture of the nav dvd??? Don't you need a copy of the DVD?

I was trying to get an update of my Euro nav DVD. Indeed impossible here. I don't even think Infinity has a Euro version? See, there is some service Cadillac needs to work on...

even if they do get the eurpean nav disc, wouldn't they have issues with region code?

Well, when I copy it on DVD-R, would it still be a problem? Plus, it's a data dvd and not a film. Worth a try as it is not an expensive experiment...

did you buy your cts from us? i meant if you bought your car from us and imported to europe then you will run into region code issues trying to use the european disc since the car has a us nav unit. However the issue might be simple as your local caddy dealership use techII to change the region settings.
