I have an 09 Escalade ESV, the radio and bluetooth have been acting up. The dealer said it needs a new Vehicle Control Module. He said it controls not only the radio and bluetooth but a lot of other things. I'm just curious what else does this part control? How essential is it? Thanks.

VCIM is essentially the onstar module. I would think the truck would run fine without it, but you would lose onstar and Bluetooth.
