Anyone spot any V3's in the wild yet? I know they're not out yet, but there's some around...

Re: V3 Spots

it is...it's part of the carbon fiber pkg.....just don't check that box and you get a smaller spoiler no raw carbon in the hood heat extractor, no raw carbon splitter and no raw carbon diffuser...and you save $5500

Re: V3 Spots

no...but it's essentially a body kit a similar carbon kit with hood from D3 would cost $5,880 BEFORE paint and installation and when you consider the costs of engineering the molds getting enough autoclaves for their production needs and the limited production nature of this car (you're looking at up to twice the price of a regular CTS which severely cuts down the buyer pool) this is not an unreasonable price

Real Carbon fiber is not cheap....to put this into perspective one of the biggest uses of carbon fiber is in the bicycle industry and for carbon frames (just the frame not a whole bike) you can expect to pay $2-$4K (this one is $7K), carbon wheels add another $1-$2k...the wheels probably use about as much carbon at the CTS-V spoiler and the frame which weighs about 2 to 3 pounds (with metal inserts for threaded parts and bearings) probably uses a similar amount of carbon as the CTS-V diffuser.

I guess it isn't too expensive when compared with other aesthetic features like the $600+ midnight Sapele wood trim on the V2.
