So Moldy was cool enough to invite me to drive the Viper he wants to buy  So we had a little "adventure" hehe
Viper impressions? Great second car, loud, rough, hot...damn clutch takes all my weight to depress. lol. Honestly I'm more a refined Porsche second car guy.
How'd the V hold up? Modly will tell you :D

Urb's came over at noon and I let him have a go behind the wheel. I thought he was gonna let loose on the thing, as when I first met him he gave me quite a hell ride in his V :spin: But I cautioned him that dodge does not equip the viper with any stability or traction control devices. so he took it easy on her.
We headed to find a suitable race area but were hampered with sunday drivers everywhere. We finally did some frontage road racing 3-4 from a roll 1st gear and 1-2 from a stop.
Urb's is a good driver despite his modesty I am OK. The Urbymobile did quite well against the viper. 1st seem to be even and second was even thru half the gear (vipers gears that is) at 1/2 thru 2nd gear the viper started to wake up and was pulling I stoped at 100 or so and think I was 2 maybe 3 cars ahead at that speed. (hard for me to judge thru that small side mirror).
I am sure if we keep going the viper would widen the gap exponentialy as urbs explained but that was too fast for these particular roads.
As urby left i was parked in a conveinence stop haveing a smoke and his car sounded SICK!!!!! Man did it sound good!!!!!! He did a burn out at the stop sign and the dude in the lot were like
Although the B&B with x-pipe and headers is too loud for me as my daily driver it is one BADASS sound. much coller that the vipers odd firing V10 :(
WE will re match later when i have some time on the car and learn her a bit better.
BTW I am getting the car NEW nver titled ('04 model year) for 65K sitcker was 85K .............. sound good????

i think it was perfectly even up to 60 each time...as i shifted to third you pulled ahead, and your shift to third kept you pulling away to the 2-3 car lengths at 100+.
Our runs were from first gear rolls...maybe 5mph, so to help my hop and his wheel spin :) the only race I "won" was when moldy smoked em off the line badly LOL
For a 4000lb sedan I gave the Viper a very VERY worthy run...in fact we were even at "legal" speeds :yup:

Can't wait for that rematch :D

Nice ride Moldy. My brother has had the same Viper for about a year and the runs have been very similar. From a standstill both cars are very hard to launch properly. The Viper from the rear looks like it is a steamroller but still manages to cut those tires loose. Last Sunday we aslo had a few spirited runs on the highway to about 100 and it is a weird feeling like the V is in slow motion when the Viper starts to pull away. Makes me push on the pedal so hard that I thought my foot was going to go through the floor. Good luck, you will enjoy the Viper.

Our V's are fast with a few mods!!!!!!!!!!
The viper feels REAL fast, Prob because your low to the ground and hear more noise in the convertible. I was planning on calling hennessey and seeing what they have, but I don't want to go nuts. Maybe 70-100 HP over stock is all I would be able to take. anything over 600HP is NOT for me!! especially in a car with no safty device's as stabil-a-track and TC!!!!
