Luke has said there will be an event this year...Anyone know if there is a planned V-Day for 2011 @ Summit Point? I have retired my V from track duty but I will take it out for V-Day if there is one.

Well then go git-er that SRX. Maybe she'll jump on the Caddy band wagon :yup:Damnation, I'm going to another one of these before I croak, so help me!
Just got to get "permission" if you know what I mean. :suspense:
TBJ is wise....there will be at least one event this year. date will probably be around the same time as usual (late June). will have a official announcement next weekLuke has said there will be an event this year...
maybe any sponsorship is needed (got to have some before you can have more). the reg. fee is completely dedicated to track rental and food. last V-day I had to come out of pocket on the difference...seems like a great idea, but, IIRC, it was priced on the high side for a 1-day event, especially at Slummit. maybe more sponsorship is needed.

Good luck unless you are a member there.I'm ready for a VDay...plus I'd also like to get something together for a track day up at Monticello using their V's
I don't remember exactly what we paid - was it $250? I just signed up to run a PDX with the DC Region SCCA on Summit Main next week - $275 for Saturday, $150 for Sunday, $375 both days. I would say I typically pay $350-400 for a 2-day event. 2-day events are always cheaper per day than a 1-day event, and the other events I've attended typically have 2-3 times as many participants, which obviously helps with the costs.seems like a great idea, but, IIRC, it was priced on the high side for a 1-day event, especially at Slummit.

Doggone it, Phil, they DO let you out once in a while afterall! What about Cadillac Brand as a Sponsor?
Now that the motor sports division is open, I don't see why they wouldn't sponsor.
I didn't at V-Day I. Started out wet, and when one guy kissed the concrete, I sure wish I had. As it was, I was, shall we say, very cautious after that.... Should one have prior track time under their belt before tackling Summit? ...
Yeah, whenever you deal with rain, you need to take it easy. But Summit Point Main is much easier to deal with, and more forgiving, in the rain over Shenandoah. And in general...I didn't at V-Day I. Mike we can use their V's if we just do their 1 day program, its around a grand for the day with lunch/classroom time. I'd rather do it with fellow V guys instead of strangers. I can probably work out a deal if enough get interested.Good luck unless you are a member there.
