V at the dealer for 2.5 weeks now

Dropped it off before I went to Germany for the clutch TSB.

They broke the Mallett shifter somehow, and the shift knob.

Since I've been back (over one week) they've been trying to figure out how to replace a roll pin in the lower pivot point of the shifter.

Can't say in words how frustrating and  this makes me.

They haven't even addressed the other issues while it has been sitting (falling down headliner and sail panels, power steering seems to be failing, broken/loose center armrest again, and now the 4th homelink sunvisor).

Hate to say it, but odds are high I'll be leaving the V community shortly. Don't really care what kind of hit I take on the car. Might be time to wise up and buy a Smart car anyway :banghead:

I felt the same way when I was visiting the dealer 1-2x week for oh SIX weeks straight (they even kept the RO open for 6 weeks).

My problem with getting rid of the V is the famous, what's next?
When I did my 23 day marathon visit I was very tempted to dump it. In fact had the right deal come along I probably would've. But that damned V is a seductive mistress. No matter how she mistreats me one night on the open highway and I'm in love all over again. Hope you get the opportunity to feel the same.
Got her back tonight.

Grabbed 2nd (went sideways), powered into 3rd (went sideways)...and smoked 'em a time or two more to make sure the Maggie and new clutch were in harmony with each other.

Yeah, I love this car - just not the service hassles.

Smoked a kid in a SpecV with the wheels spinning thru second and third in front of my hospital yesterday. He was :holycrap: Made me love my car all over again, esp. with Maggie. Don't sell it! Lucky no :cop: though.

I totally understand SERVICE ISSUES! I was having them on another Caddy before I bought my VEE. I have gotten bad service with BENZ as well, so I know it is the people.

It is NOT the CAR but the service hourlys that work on "blue hair mobiles" that frustrates me. I am still trying to get them to upgrade my ONSTAR to digital and no one at my dealership seems to know or CARE that I am taken care of.

Which Dealership were you at?

...Before you take a hit...check into GMs Buy-Back programs and your Nevada Lemon Law.

Plenty of Corvette guys on corvetteforum.com had their cars bought back by GM for multiple similar problems. Search the archives...
