I have a 99 escalade, I took off the intake and sprade thottle body cleaner directley into the thottle body and scrubbed with a tooth bruch. then wiped up what i could see with a clean rag. It started and idoled rough. then was idoling fine for 5 min then i hit the gas and it ran rough at 2000 rpm then shut off...
Now it wont start... i changed the plugs "they looked fouled" still nothing.
did the throttle body cleaner mess up a senser or something???
PLEASE HELP!!!!

EGR maybe???

Well you can remove the EGR and see if the button portion is stuck. The button is the valve and should open up/close easily if you press on it. If its stuck open or closed, then it needs cleaning. Try to keep the cleaner from getting inside the part especially if you use something harsh like carb cleaner. Do a search on EGR and you should find a nice write-up with pics on how to properly clean the thing. I don't think that a bad EGR will prevent the truck from starting though. Are any codes set?

Did you reconnect the throttle position sensor? (I think those pre-2004 had them)
