I bought a 08 Grey CTS today , and was wondering about uploading MP3s

I have a flash drive and I am uploading music, but how long does it take to do say 6gig?

minutes or hours or what? LOL

I havnt been in the car long enough to get it all recorded so when i get back in the car I hit the record button again, but will it start recording where it left off or start over and have multiple copies of the same song?

Thank you for your help,
Duke

Although I've only recorded music from CDs, this should give you an idea:

12-15 songs took approx. 20-25 mins. to record. If you turn the car off while it is recording, then resume recording later, it will record from where it left off.

My expierence is that recording from a thumb drive is much, much faster that recording from cd's. I've never recorded that large of content at one time. Of course it would also depend on at what bit rate you songs are recorded on your flash drive. It takes about two or three minutes for an average cd recorded at 320 (the highest) so you could do the math. One suggestion I would make is to make sure the song id's and information you have on your drive is how you want it so that it will display correctly.

when you rip a cd to the car's hard drive, the car has to compress/encode the cd audio to mp3 (or whatever format the car uses)
when you copy mp3s from a flash drive there's nothing to do but move the bits from the flash drive to the car's hard drive
