Has anyone here upgraded their GM Navigations Radios from the Standard button units to the touchscreen units?

What was needed to complete the upgrade?
What additional pars do I need to get to make it happen?
Also will I have to make a trip to the Dealer to do anything?
Will my Onstar need to change anything?
How about XM radio?

Thanks and I do remember reading about some of you members have done these changes.
Please share the knowledge you have learned.

Its common that the theftlock will activate on the units. If it does, then the VIN needs to be cleared at the dealer or I believe any audio shop that has capabilities of doing that (if any at all). The touchscreens use the luxury Bose system. I have a few buddies at my local dealership that deal with this kind of stuff.

you don't need anything except a trip to the dealer to clear the vin. Like synergetic said they should do for free. Just unplug your radio and the touchscreen will plug right in. Simple! I did this with my 03 and love the touchscreen. No more joystick!!
