Today i was looking under my hood checking things out and i noticed a broken wire towards the bottom of the block just under the water pump area. I'm not quite sure what it's for but i'm assuming it has something to do with the thermostat? i also noticed some fluid in the area on the motor also which i'm thinking is my water pump leaking. Maybe someone else can correct me if i'm wrong in my assumptions or verify if im right. Thanks in advance.
(In these pictures the circle is the broken wire, and the square is fluid leaking down the block)

that is your oil pressure switch, and that looks like oil and not coolant. If your water pump was leaking you wouldn't see it until you took your timing cover off. You probably need valve cover gaskets.

I just changed valve cover gaskets with new Pcv system about 1.5-2 months ago. And have strong coolant burning smell once the motors warmed up. That's why Im assuming its my water pump.

I am curious, is there a check engine light? If so, what is the code?

What I would do, remove that plug and cover the sensor's plug up. Small plastic bag and a zip tie, just so debris won't get in there if you need to use the car to travel to the stores. Anyways, take the plug with you to see if anyone has a match. It does not have to be specially made for the oil pressure sensor, another sensor that uses the same plug shall work.

No codes, car runs fine it was just strange seeing the broken wire. Now I know y I can't get a reading for pressure and temp on torque.

Yes you can repair the wire as long as you have enough good wire and you MUST use a weather proof shrink wrap connector, or shrink wrap over a solder joint.
I have heat shrinking tubes I use on all my aftermarket radios wire connections. Does anyone know the gauge of the wire. It looks to me like and 18 or 20 gauge wire. Ill pry just add new wire to the existing broken wire and get a new sensor which autozone does have for $8.00

I concur, appears to be that size range.

Is this wire ok to solder or just use a butt connector? I know the replacement comes with a butt connector.
