I just rebuilt my 07 6.2 all s was well on startup but during break in I smelled burning oil and found a small crack in the valve cover which sprayed oil all over the right side of the engine. It seemed excessive to me from a vent line so I did a compression test. 195-200 except #4 at 130 and #7 at 155. A leak down shows nothing wrong. That was in the 1st 100 miles. I had to add a quart of oil by 300 miles. Tested again. No change. I’m told moly rings can take up to 3000 miles to seat but it seems to me all but 2 have already done so. I’m also told I can’t have a difference of 130 and 195 side by side but nothing I can find or have read tells me what to do about it. I tested again at 500 miles no change might have even lost a couple pounds on #4. Now at 600 miles I have to add another quart of oil. I no “catch can” but it’s still wrong. Idling rough and filling the intake with oil. I even had oil on the filter at first. So what now, what am I looking for?
