Unable to adjust clock--2008 STS wi Navigation

The clock adjust screen will come up after touching and holding for a couple seconds the clock area on the screen but none of the adjusting "buttons" are functional.

This is happening after an issue last evening where the car would not start until after disconnecting and reconnecting the battery.

Even then I had to put the keyless start switch in accessory mode first and then was able to start the car.

Any ideas on the clock adjust issue as well as what may have caused the "no start" issue. Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you ever find an answer? My clock stopped working after I had alternator replaced. I even took my car to a factory repair shop as I would like to keep the stock stereo because of all the custom features. He worked on it but still no fix on the clock. He said and then as I have read, I think it has something to do with the GPS. jeez!

This fix is not for the CTS. I'm not sure what the problem is that you're having, but the firmware updates released are specific to the 2008 STS, 2009-11 STS and the 2005-10 Corvette. Perhaps someone on the CTS forum has some additional knowledge or information, but the CTS is not listed as part of this bulletin. It only includes the Cadillac STS & DTS, Chev Avalanche/Corvette/Silverado/Suburban & Tahoe, GMC Sierra/Yukon/Yukon XL and Denali, Hummer H2, Pontiac Grand Prix and Saab 9-3.

Is it necessary to have the engine running during the process?
Insert the CD (not DVD) in the navigation OR the music slot?
Is STS_GPS_MY_08.Fix the folder that should be on the CD containing the file LOADING.kwi or just the file only without the folder?
Sorry for all the questions but getting error messages when trying.

Hello all,
Been following this thread since the start. I was hoping for a resolution to the clock issue which I also have. 2006 STS V. Love driving it. I looked into trading it in on a 2018 CT6 and decided no-go after the test drive. Not sure why the lack of a clock Tripp’s me up so much. Has anyone tried the update on an 05-07? Or are we all just drinking the kool-aid?

But also, don't forget, in mid summer (in theory) your clock will start working again. Just the date will be wrong.

If you can't stand that, you could swap in a 2008 Nav unit from eBay. You'd probably have to swap face plates because they are a bit different shade, and you'd have to initiate the VIN relearn with a Tech II.

According to a member on here a long time ago the only thing that won't work is the skip tracks button on the steering wheel.

Could you pm or email the address here you found this file? I copy and pasted the address in one of the POST, came back "Cannot find site) or something similar.I talked to GM customer service this morning. CS said no such file exist, no bulletin has been sent out and I should not believe anything on the internet. I sure would like to have my clock back, I lost it after a battery exchange last August. Can anyone help me? 2008 STS... HELP HELP HELP

That sure sounds like the typical CS attitude. There is a bulletin, I personally saw it on Friday when I stopped in at my Cadillac dealer. This is clearly just laziness on their part. The original bulletin was #PIT5652E, however I did learn that the updated information to fix both the STS and Corvette have been released under a new bulletin dated November 15, 2019. Unfortunately, I do not have the new number. I wish I did just so you could call back this CS agent and tell them how disappointed you are that the big bad internet actually knows better than they do. Very little frustrates me more than a CS agent with an attitude who doesn't have any interest in providing customer service.
