I have done the modification of installing a double din radio into the cd part of the radio.
However, with me wanting things to be perfect. I am not done. What I want to do, so to have the DIC display only the car's information. Nothing from the radio, AND still be able to use the volume control on the steering wheel.
I just recently received the diagram for the radio, amp, steering wheel and onstar. I was sadden by the fact that I will not be able to learn the "code" for the volume button for the PAC-AUDIO steering wheel module for an aftermarket radio.
So I came up with the idea of using a second radio in the back to control the factory amp for volume. Since I don't that volume is controlled by the amp, not the actual radio.
I hope that I explained myself enough, But I would really like to know if I could program two radios for the same car at the same time? If need be, I could disconnect the Class 2 data from the car for the radio in the back. Which will be connected to the amp's Class 2 data port only.
I believe that I would need to program it just to be able to turn it on. At least that is my though.
