Hey guys,

I'm looking into installing a cold air intake for my 03 cts. While poking around I saw that there were only K&N and Volant intakes. Both of these intakes only had a single air filter. Looking around more, I stumbled upon a twin air intake (two air filters). Would this be able to work with the 3.2 engine my cts has?

I have the Volant on my 3.6. It provides way more air flow than the engine requires with the single filter and intake. I don't see how you could fit a dual air ram like you pictured in the engine bay. No room at all and besides, the Volant is engineered for cool air and maximum airflow as it is.

Kinda cool, but even if you did manage to get in to fit in the engine compartment, the only thing it would do is give you more time in between filter cleanings.

The downside is that no matter what it's called, it isn't a 'cold air intake' if it's sucking hot underhood engine air. Without an airbox drawing cooler air from outside of the engine bay, you will hurt power, not help. Hotter air is less dense, which means less fuel is injected.

K&N FIPK had the largest filter and made the most power (8HP) on a 3.2 in my dyno tests, followed by the Volant and the TonyA modified airbox (tied at ~5 HP). K&N is also the loudest, if you really want that on a Cadillac. An even bigger filter area isn't going to help you much if you already have more filter area than the engine requires at WOT.
