any ideas ?
I don't want to mislead you. Please keep in mind that photo is from a 1995 FSM. My recollection is that folk from later model years agreed with that location as "seen" from the emergency brake pedal location.

If you can't find it there, I might have sent you on a wild goose chase. Sorry if that's the case.

Just replaced mine on my 97 Eldorado. I had trouble finding it also and went to the dealership and talked to a mechanic. He put it in for me in about ten minutes and it is under the dash to the left of the steering column and between the steering column and the emergency break. Washn't easy to find for me either. Hope this helps. Take care

I just replaced the turn signal flasher in my 2001 Eldorado. It's almost impossible to see from underneth the dash. Remove the headlight controller on the left side of the steering column by gently prying it out with a screew driver. The flasher unit is a square black box mounted just behind and to the right of the headlight control module.

You just remove the driver's kick panel. Then looking at the Data Link Connector should be no further than 10 inch away from it (to the right) accessible/visible once the kick panel is removed. It has a metal clip that holds it mounted in the dash. Super easy to find and change.
This is EXACTLY what you are looking for:

Just adding that this old thread saved me a lot of hassle, too.
After looking (upside down) for 20 minutes I searched here.

Even after I read this thread I had to poke around...re-read thread...and poke around again before I found the flasher unit.

I'll add a few things...first, it is further up toward the front of the dash than I was expecting.
Second, mine had a piece of black foam around it making it that much more difficult to see.
Third, the replacement unit did not have a spot for the clasp that the original part was fixed to the dash with.

So instead of pushing it back where it was, and where it would rattle a bit on the dash since it isn't fixed in place.
I let it rest on top of some other wiring. Hope that doesn't hurt anything.

Once you do find it, it is plug and play.

The OEM replacement should have the metal tab to fix it to the dash. And yes I forgot to mention the relay is wrapped in a piece of foam.
Year(s) ago I had an issue with the left side turning signal (flashing fast), I traced the issue to the pigtail harness for the inner left taillight. I fixed the harness, it was a bad contact inside the socket between the GND black wire and the GND metal tab (bad/loose crimp). But my repair failed yesterday on my way to Buffalo once in a while I was getting the fast flasher (depending on the road surface). So on my way back to Toronto I made a 20 miles detour to Brantford and got one harness from the 10 or so cars Ponyboyt is parting out. Works GREAT, why bother fixing it when Ponyboyt is a huge source of parts, THANKS man!

Re: Hey Warren...

I have a 1996 eldorado and afterdays I found it. If you have the metal plate off from under the steering wheel column look underneath right above the hood release you will see a metal bracket. The flasher is clipped on the back of it. You might see the top of it but if u cannot feel around that bracket and you will feel it. It is clipped on the other side of the bracket so you will not see it. But it is there. I promise you.
